Randell M. (Pete) Davis Sr., age 79, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday night, July 25, 2017. He was preceded in death by infant son, Aubrey Lee Davis and infant great granddaughter, Hadley Marie Davis, parents, Lester Davis & Nema Davis Martin, and in-laws, Aubrey & Merdie Long, sisters-in-law, Barbara Miller and Wanda Davis, brothers-in-law, Randy Dale, Woody Clower and Ricky Rawlins , nephew, Darryl Miller.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Virginia Long Davis; three sons & two daughters-in-law, Randell (Randy) Davis, Jr. & Ann B. Davis of Dacula, GA, Rev. Scott & Lori Davis of Clearwater, FL, and Todd Davis of Dacula, GA; brother, Victor & Ellen Davis of Winder, GA; grandchildren, Skylar Davis of Dacula, GA, Lance & Danielle Davis of Jefferson, GA, Cody & Ali Davis of Winder, GA, Justin & Madi Davis of Dallas, GA, Beau & Lauren Holcombe of Winder, GA, Jessica & Chris Peyton of Woodstock, GA; great grandchildren, Harlowe Davis, Beckett & Maddox Holcombe, Kyleigh Akins and Briahna Peyton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billy & Bonnie Ruth Long of Monroe, GA, Pat & Judy Long of Grovetown GA, Grace Clower of Snellville, GA, Gail & Wayne Manning of Monroe, GA, Jean & Steve Lark of Monroe, GA, and Margaret & Leo Miller of Monroe, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Mr. Davis graduated from Lawrenceville High School in 1956 and served in the Georgia National Guard from 1958-1968. He worked at Ford Motor Company, Green’s Fuel and was in business several years with his brother in the sanitation industry. He loved God, his church, and his family. Pete enjoyed playing softball and deer hunting. He was a loyal member and Deacon since 1968 at Gwinnett Hall Baptist Church in Lawrenceville and Center Hill Baptist Church in Gratis. He will be deeply missed by his adoring family and the many friends he had over the years.
The Service Honoring the Life of Randell M. (Pete) Davis, Sr. will be held Saturday July 29, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel with Rev. Scott Davis, son, Rev. Rex Richards and Rev. Marion Prather officiating. Interment will follow at Peachtree Road (Old Field) Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 28th, from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday, July 29th after 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
