Obituary and funeral services: Walter Lee Brown, Jr., 94, of Monroe

Walter Lee Brown, Jr., age 94 of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the Monroe Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Rev. Don Malcom & Rev. Carlton Shelton will officiate. Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Brown was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He retired from Monroe Mills after 46 years of dedicated service. He was a US Army Veteran whom served during WWII and during the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Brown was also a member of Generous Warren Masonic Lodge in Monroe for more than 60 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Brown, and his parents, Walter Lee and Daisy Gertrude Brown, Sr. Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Vickie and Steve Phillips, Loganville; sister, Carolyn Killingsworth, Milledgeville; granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Meghan & Brian Phelts, Monroe; great grandchildren, Caleb & Tyler Phelts, Monroe; and several nieces and nephews.
