Obituary – Donna Earhart-Backman Torrance, 58, of Loganville

Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Donna was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ronald Gary Backman. She graduated from Clarkstown North High School in 1977. Donna was an Insurance Adjuster in Workers’ Compensation the majority of her career.

Donna will be remembered for her loving spirit, caring sense of nature and sweet disposition. She was a quiet soul that loved deeply and truly. Donna was a very strong woman who overcame many obstacles in her life.

Donna is survived by her only child, Ms. Melissa Mae Torrance. She is also survived by her father, Dr. Ronald Gary Backman. Her sister, Carla (Michael) Passafuime and her brother, Neil Wayne Backman. Several nieces and nephews.

Donna is survived by numerous family members on her mother’s side; The Peters family (Glenn, Sharon and Kathy), the Duffel family (Kim and Staci) and the Mangrum family (Elaine, Pat, Bobby and Peggy).

Donna is survived by Randy, Cody and Ashley McIntyre. Her best friend’s, Cherie Shaffer and Yvonne Dwyer.

Donna also had the companionship of her three sweet and loving dogs, Angel, Jack and Peanut.

She is proceeded in death by her mother, Margene Cole Backman and her grandparents, Alfred and Vera Earhart.

The family, following Donna’s wishes, have decided to have no public service. Donna will be cremated and remain in the loving care of her daughter, Melissa. Condolences can be sent to Eternal Hills Funeral Home at 3594 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville GA.
