Obituary: Lisa Poss Bray, 63, of Alpharetta, formerly of Good Hope

Lisa Poss Bray, 63, of Alpharetta passed away on May 28, 2017, after many years of fighting multiple sclerosis.

Born in Good Hope, GA she earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics from Georgia Southwestern State University in 1974. She continued her education at the University of Georgia where she earned her Master of Education degree in 1978. She was a chemistry teacher at Carver Junior High School for 5 years before starting a successful and fulfilling career with AT&T in 1980. During her 26 years working at AT&T she held various technical and managerial IT positions, made lifelong friends and “had a lot of great adventures” before retiring in 2006. Lisa was the daughter of the late Milton and Allison Poss of Good Hope.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh Bray of Alpharetta; daughter Valerie Schicho and wife, Jenny Stevens, of Atlanta; step-daughter Michelle Grant and husband Quint, of Adairsville; granddaughters Allison Stevens, Emily Rich, and Peyton Grant; sisters, Nan Poss Smith and husband Paul Monahan of Braselton, Celia Poss Thompson and husband Mike of Gainesville; brother John Poss and wife Beth of Good Hope; nieces Kellie Smith of Brookhaven, Sheyra Davis and husband Cody of Marion, OH, Victoria Messer of Good Hope; nephews Eric Thompson and wife Lindsey of Cumming, Will Thompson and finace Jennifer of Canton, Wesley Smith and wife Taylor of Brookhaven; a numerous cousins and a great-niece and nephew. There was a visitation and funeral service on Friday, June 2, 2017 in Monroe. The funeral service was at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Interment followed at Good Hope Christian Church Cemetery. Following internment, family and friends gathered at the Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle to share stories and celebrate Lisa’s life with food, laughter, and love.
