Mildred Ellan Brownlee Wages (Ellan) of Monroe, GA., formally of Snellville, Ga., was born to the late Giles and Pansy Brownlee of the Five Forks Community and she attended Snellville High School.
On November 3, 1951, Ellan married Robert Eugene (Gene) Wages and they were married for 62 years till his death in 2014. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Brownlee, Sr.; son-in-law Dennis Hartnett; and grandson, Lonnie R. Moon, Jr. She is survived by her 3 daughters; Deborah Hartnett of Snellville, Denise (Loy) Swanson of Madison and Diana (Brad) Sweetwood of Buckhead; 1 grandson, James Robbie (Joy) Huff of Snellville; 2 granddaughters, Paulette (Josh) Moon of Monroe and Lorrie (Paul) Lavengood of Madison; 8 great-grandchildren, Chase Moon and fiancé Emily Roy, Kyler Huff, Sarah Jean Moon, Lauren Huff, Paul Lavengood III, Emma Moon, Blake Huff and Lillie Rae Lavengood. She is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Judy Brownlee of Loganville and Christine Franklin of Snellville; and many nieces and nephews.
Ellan enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and baking, celebrating special occasions, and going to the beach, especially Daytona Beach, FL.
Ellan was a homemaker before working at and retiring from Target, Snellville. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Snellville. She was a 5l year member of Snellville OES #513, Snellville, and a member of Loganville Shrinettes. She and Gene enjoyed volunteering at the Shrine Circus for many years.

The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Mildred Ellan Brownlee Wages were held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Dr. Jeff Gongwer will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org.
