Officer Kenneth Raines of the Loganville Police Department was named the departments 2017 Officer of the Year at the annual Christmas dinner and was recognized for the honor at the December Loganville City Council Meeting.

Loganville Police Chief Mike McHugh presented Raines with a plaque, noting that this honor is bestowed upon the officer by the vote of his peers. It was his fellow officers who decided that he was the officer who best represented what the department stands for.
“We thank you for the job you do every day for the department and the citizens of Loganville,” McHugh said on presenting Raines with a plaque.
The plaque reads, “In recognition of your dedicated and exemplary services to the Loganville Police Department and the cities of the City of Loganville. Your professionalism, honor and integrity serve as a shining example to your peers and are in the highest tradition of the police services.”
Raines’ family was on hand to witness city officials recognizing the honor.
