On Stage and Monroe-Walton Library present Youth Drama Hour

Press release from FPC of Monroe

Monroe, Georgia, November 2, 2017 – On Stage, a Walton County community theater, has received the Vibrant Community grant from the The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA).

This grant will allow On Stage to work in cooperation with the Monroe-Walton Library to fund a monthly Youth Drama Hour.

This event is free for children in grades K-6 and will be held once a month at the Monroe-Walton Library.  The Youth Dama Hour will  bring our favorite children’s books to life through drama games, pantomime, and play.  Young actors will have the opportunity to perform and explore the characters, themes, and literary devices of several of our most beloved children’s stories.

“We are grateful to On Stage for ensuring that children in Walton County have access to performing arts,” said Monroe-Walton Librarian Blake Peters.

The first Youth Drama Hour will be Friday, November 10, at the Monroe-Walton Library at 2pm.
