Open casting call for background actors for Nancy Drew movie shoot in Monroe/Social Circle, Ga.

Update: This has been amended to add that filming will also take place in Social Circle.

Remember the old Nancy Drew books and the early movies? Well, even those who don’t could get a background role in the updated movie, Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase. Filming in Monroe later this month, this feature film is reported to star 16-year-old actress Sophia Lillis as the famed fictional character Nancy Drew.

The movie, which is reported to have Wendy Williams as executive producer and Ellen DeGeneres as another one of the producers, will be filming in downtown Monroe and Social Circle at the end of May into June 2018 and producers are looking for some paid background actors. There will be no fees and no experience is necessary.

The open casting call will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the City of Monroe Community Building on E. Church Street. The call is for adults (over the age of 18) “who appear between the ages of 18 and 60 years old who live in and are able to work in or around the Monroe, Ga. area.” The filming will take place between May 23 and June 22.
