(Grayson, Ga.,) – At 11:24 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, firefighters responded to the report of a fire at Atlanta Premium Cars on Loganville Highway, SE near Cooper Road in Grayson. Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services report that a passerby called 911 to smoke pouring from a used car dealership.

“Crews arrived to find heavy fire involvement in a room on the back-middle of a single-story, wood-frame structure,” Capt. Tommy Rutledge, public information officer with GCFES, said in a press release. “Firefighters quickly deployed attack hose lines and forced entry inside to extinguish the fire and conduct a primary search. There was no one inside the business when fire trucks arrived and no injuries were reported.”
Rutledge said the dealership was closed at the time, according to the owner.
“The blaze caused heavy damage to the room of origin and sent extensive smoke and heat throughout the rest of the building,” Rutledge said. “Firefighters had to pull the sheetrock and ceiling in the adjoining rooms to control the flames and check for extension.”
Rutledge said the exact cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation. An employee as well as the owner reported to the scene to speak with fire personnel.
