Monroe, Ga. (Dec. 30, 2019) – Piedmont Walton Hospital Volunteer Gordenia Murdoch was recently presented a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from United States Congressman Jody Hice, who serves Georgia’s tenth congressional district.

Murdoch was honored for her years of service to the Walton County community. As a hospital volunteer for more than 10 years, Murdoch averages more than 60 hours of volunteer time at the hospital each week.

She also serves as the treasurer and the director of the North Central District for the Council on Volunteer Services through the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA).

“We’re very proud of Gordenia for her years of volunteer service to our hospital,” said Heather Boyce, manager of community relations for Piedmont Walton, who oversees the more than 50 hospital volunteers.  “To Gordenia and our team of volunteers, this recognition honors the work of all of our volunteer services and the positive difference they make in the lives of our patients, visitors, staff members and community.”
