Preview of local high school football games this week

The weather played havoc with most of the local Friday night high school football games last Friday but it looks like things will be better this time around. Besides a weather report that claims it will be dry, it also claims it will be 10 degrees cooler at 81 degrees at the 7:30 p.m. kickoff time. Let’s hope they’re right!

The Monroe Area varsity football team eventually won last week’s home non-conference game on Saturday against Walnut Grove by a score of 42-2. The Hurricanes get a bye week this week before traveling to Madison to take on the Morgan County Bulldogs in a conference game on Sept. 27.

The Walnut Grove Warriors have a non-conference game at home against Apalachee on Friday, Sept. 20.
