Qualifying to fill vacant District 6 seat on the Monroe City Council begins Monday, Aug. 17

On Nov. 3, 2020 there will be a Special Election to fill the unexpired term for District 6, the seat held by the late Wayne Adcock who passed away unexpectedly on Easter Sunday. The City Council called for the special election to take place in conjunction with the General Election. The term is up at the end of 2021 at which time a regular election will take place to elect someone to serve a full 4-year term.

Qualifying for the candidates will begin in the office of the Board of Elections located at 1110 East Spring Street in Monroe on Monday, Aug. 17, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. and will end on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. The qualifying fee is $180.
