Scam offers fake Georgia fishing licenses.
Georgia Department of National Resources is warning on its Facebook page that when entering “Georgia Fishing License” into a search engine, it results in the first link being an advertisement for www.georgiafishinglicense. online/. This fictious site allows you to enter your personal information (social security number, driver’s license, address, etc.) to receive a fishing license through the mail, but never asks for payment.
Georgia DNR has begun the process of having the website shutdown. Please notify the Law Enforcement Division – Georgia DNR‘s Investigative Unit at 770-918-6408 if you or anyone you know has provided your personal information on this site. We also encourage affected customers to file a police report with their local agency as well as monitoring/freezing their credit.
The valid web address to purchase a hunting or fishing license is always www.gooutdoorsgeorgia.com
