Snellville man dies in early morning motorcycle wreck in Snellville Monday

(Snellville, Georgia)  Gwinnett County Police Department report that a 44-year-old Snellville man died after crashing his motorcycle on Parkwood Road early this morning. Officers from the South Precinct were dispatched to the accident in front of 2882 Parkwood Road in unincorporated Snellville at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019.  The caller reported that a motorcycle driver was lying unconscious in the driveway of the home.

Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services confirmed that the driver was deceased. He has been identified as George Butler, 44, of Snellville. According to the preliminary investigation by the Gwinnett County Police Accident Investigation Unit, he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a curve and was ejected. The motorcycle came to rest in a nearby driveway. His helmet was not properly secured and had come off during the collision. GCPD report that rider inexperience and speed are being investigated as possible contributing factors.
