The McDaniel-Tichenor House welcomed guests on Sunday afternoon for a special program titled Stories That Bind Us, an event celebrating the families, memories, and shared history that shape the Monroe community.
Attendees gathered inside the historic home to hear stories connected to the McDaniel and Tichenor families, whose lives and legacies are closely tied to the history of Monroe and the history of the state of Georgia. The program offered a meaningful opportunity for guests to reflect on how personal stories and local history intertwine to create a deeper sense of community.
A highlight of the afternoon was the unveiling of a portrait of Edgar Tichenor by local artist Susan Pelham. The portrait has been added to the McDaniel-TichenorHouse collection, honoring an important figure in the home’s history.
