Strawberries return this spring to Washington Farms in Bogart

Second location in Loganville, however, is permanently closed

BOGART, Ga. — Washington Farms is excited to announce that they will be growing their famous strawberries again this spring. They will be opening for their 2021 strawberry season in April. Strawberries will only be grown and sold at the Bogart, GA location, as they have permanently closed their second farm location in Loganville, GA.

In 2019, the Washington’s announced that they would no longer be growing strawberries as they prepared for retirement, but when the pandemic hit in March of 2020, they were unable to open during that spring, and they weren’t sure if they would be able to open later that fall either. Even though the pandemic was the initial push in the decision to bring back strawberries, the Washington family and their loyal customers have definitely missed the strawberries.

“We have had so many customers ask us to bring back strawberries,” said John Washington, owner of Washington Farms. “A lot of customers would come up to us or mention something on social media about how much they loved the strawberries, and how much they would miss them.”

Picking strawberries at Washington Farms while eating a cup of the best homemade strawberry ice cream has become a tradition that so many families in the community have missed.

“We’re really excited to bring back the strawberries this spring, and we think our customers will be so excited too,” Washington said.
