The City of Loganville seeks an IT technician

The City of Loganville is looking to hire an IT Technician. The salary range for this full-time position is $18.33 /hr NDOQ

The successful applicant is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and upgrading city computer systems and networks under the supervision and discretion of the Information Technology Department Director. Their day to day responsibilities will include installing and configuring and maintaining computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and application problems. The IT Technician will oversee the smooth running of computer systems and programs whilst ensuring users get maximum benefits from them.

Knowledge Required by the Position:

  • Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems, software applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Possess a strong background in the Windows OS and Windows Server OS.
  • Have the ability to diagnose and rectify a wide range of computer hardware and software problems.
  • Provide technical assistance and comprehensive problem resolution to end-users.

Requirements: Must be able to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing; occasional weekend and holiday work; ability to lift up to 60 lbs; Three (3) years of hardware, software or networking experience relating to information technology preferably in the public sector; equivalent combination of education or experience; High School Diploma or GED. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License and have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record. In addition, must possess an acceptable Criminal Background and pass a Drug Screen.
