Two juveniles charged in Gwinnett murder

A 14-year-old and a 16-year-old have been charged in the Saturday murder of a 16-year-old and the shooting of another 17-year-old in Gwinnett County.

According to a press release from Gwinnett County Police Department, Zachary Nelson 16, died from his wounds and Noah Fullilove, 17, was shot in the arm. Both teens are from Norcross.

Police report that shortly after the early morning shooting, officers began patrolling the area searching for the suspect(s), finding two “suspicious males” on bicycles nearby who matched descriptions provided at the crime scene. The two, Omar Ramos, 16, and Ronaldo Cruz, 14, both also of Norcross, were detained and question. It was determined that they allegedly were involved in the homicide. Omar Ramos has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault. Ronaldo Cruz has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of armed robbery.

Police believe that robbery appears to be the motive for the crime. Due to their ages, both teens were initially processed at the Gwinnett County Jail and then later taken to a local youth detention facility.
