Two Loganville restaurants focus on ‘giving’ this Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time for family and friends to gather in each others’ homes and give thanks for the special blessings in their lives. But what if you are having difficulty finding those blessings, and what if you don’t have a home to gather in?

La Bamba and Cielo Blue in Loganville are joining together to see if they can be that home for those who are without a home this Thanksgiving – at least for a special Thanksgiving meal.

“From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, we will be offering a meal for people in the area who are homeless,” said Carlos Paz from La Bamba. “We here at La Bamba will be closed and the meal will be served at Cielo Blue.”

Daniel Barcenas of Cielo Blue said District Manager Reynaldo (Guevara) was out getting supplies and staff will be invited to eat as well as to help serve. He said people need to get a form from the homeless shelter they are currently living in qualifying them and bring it to the restaurant at 4763 Atlanta Highway, Suite 390, Loganville, Ga. where they will be able to sit down to a free Thanksgiving meal.

“I believe it is going to be a buffet,” Barcenas said. “It is something we want to do for the community.”
