Update: 17-year-old Loganville teen arrested in Foxberry Run, Loganville, homicide

Update

UPDATE #2:  Gwinnett Police homicide detectives arrested Makilyn Manzie, 17, of Loganville on March 17 for the Foxberry Run, Loganville, murder.

According to a press release from Gwinnett County Police Department, investigators identified Manzie by following up on leads and evidence left at the scene.  Detectives are still trying to determine a motive and the events that led up to the shooting. Manzie is charged with Aggravated Assault, Felony Murder, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

The victim in the Foxberry Run homicide on March 13 has been identified as Devond Holmes, 20, of Loganville. The male that was injured was a 16-year-old juvenile victim. At this time, investigators are still working to identify the motive of this homicide and are asking for anyone with information to come forward and provide it to the police.

Loganville, Ga., March 13, 2021) – The Gwinnett County Police Department is seeking information related to a double shooting on Foxberry Run early Saturday, March 13, 2021. According to a press release from GCPD, two males were shot in a vehicle. One was found deceased inside the vehicle with at least one gunshot wound when officers responded to a reporting of a shooting just prior to 6 a.m. A second male was found to be injured from the shooting. He was transported to a local hospital. The extent of his injuries are not know. The identity of both victims is being withheld.

At this time, the motive for the shooting is not known and there are no suspects are known at this time. Investigators are still conducting interviews and police are asking anyone with information to come forward. They are asked to contact GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300.
