Update: 19-year-old Monroe man life-flighted following single vehicle wreck Monday

Georgia State Patrol report that Chandler Burdette, 19, of Monroe, was the victim who was life-flighted on Monday, June 24, 2019, following a single-vehicle wreck on State Route 138 near the Rowe Road intersection.

According to GSP, Burdette was driving a 2008 Ford Ranger when he failed to maintain his lane and ran off the roadway to the right, re-entered the roadway and then ran off the roadway to the right again. The vehicle then vaulted over the embankment and rand into a tree in the front yard of 1335 SR 138. I rotated around the tree and came to a halt in front of the yard, where it was when the investigating trooper arrived.

No alcohol or drugs are suspected and there are no charges pending. The report is not yet complete.

Walton County Fire Rescue responded to a single vehicle accident on Monday, June 24, 2019, involving a white Ford pickup truck and a tree. According to WCFR Assistant Fire Chief Craig League, the driver was extricated from the truck by fire department personnel and taken by ambulance to the helipad at Piedmont Walton and then life-flighted to a trauma center.
First responders were dispatched at 11:09 p.m. Georgia State Patrol worked the accident. We are awaiting details from GSP to update.
