Update: 5 people arrested following two separate shootings in Monroe on Monday

Update

Dashawn Redding, 18, of Auburn was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and discharging a firearm on or near a public street in connection with a shooting on 6th Street at 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening. In addition, Micheal Livingston, 20, of Lawrenceville and Taylor, 22, of Ellenwood, were arrested on outstanding warrants after the same incident.

In the second incident that happened at 6:45 p.m. on Cook Street that resulted in one person being transported to Athens Piedmont, Camica Latoya Vinson, 33, of Monroe was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. The victim was treated and released.

Both investigations remain active at this time.

 Initial story

The City of Monroe Police officers and detectives are investigating to separate shooting incidents that happened on Monday evening, one at 6:30 p.m. on 6th Street and a second one at 6:45 p.m. on Cook Street. In the first incident, MPD reports that there were no injuries but in the second incident one person was transported to Athens Piedmont. In that case two people were taken into custody and are facing aggravated assault charges.

In the first incident, four suspects were located are in custody after a BOLO was put on the vehicle from which the shots originated.
