Update: 71-year-old man dies when woman crashes into Snellville area restaurant


Gwinnett County Police Department report that the man killed in yesterday’s accident has been identified as Harry Gober, 71 from Atlanta. The driver has been identified as Patricia Gregory, 68 from Lawrenceville. The investigation is still active but police don’t anticipate charges will be filed against the driver.


(Snellville, Ga) Gwinnett County Police report that a 71-year-old man died when a 68-year-old woman crashed into M & J Homestyle Cooking in unincorporated Snellville on Thursday afternoon. According to GCPD, the accident happened just before 3 p.m. when it is believed that the woman confused the brake pedal with the accelerator and crashed into the restaurant. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation along with her husband, who was not injured. Although the restaurant was full of patrons at the time, there were no other injuries. It has not been determined at this time whether any charges will be filed.

Gwinnett County Police Department is currently on the scene of a fatal accident at M & J Homestyle Cooking at 3050 West Main Street (Highway 78) in Unincorporated Snellville.

GCPD report that, according to the text of the call, a vehicle ran into the restaurant resulting in the death of one person. At this time it is unclear whether the deceased is an occupant of the vehicle or a patron inside the restaurant.
