Update
A 27-year-old man from Atlanta died on Wednesday morning, Dec. 2, 2020, when he failed to stop at the stop sign at Good Hope Road and struck a tree.
Cpl. Cal Barton with Georgia State Patrol said Jock Remon Arnold was traveling south on Ga. 83 when he failed to stop at the stop sign and continued straight, striking a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt. Arnold was pronounced dead at the scene.
Barton said Arnold’s next of kin have been notified.

Walton County Fire Rescue responded to a motor vehicle crash at Unisia Drive and the Highway 83 intersection this morning at 4.12 am. resulting in the death of a male victim.
According to WCFR Assistant Chief Craig League, the crash involved a single vehicle that went through the intersection and struck a tree.
“The driver was determined to be deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was the only occupant,” League said.
Georgia State Patrol worked the incident.
