Update: A Loganville and a Snellville man charged in last year’s fatal shooting at Lenora Park

A second suspect has now been arrested and charged in the June 16, 2023, murder of Brian Arnold-Causey, 19, of Snellville.

The first of the two suspects, Anwar Brenard Singleton, 18, of Loganville, was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on Oct. 28, 2023 charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Felonies. He is now also facing eight gang charges.

A second suspect, Prince James, 19, was also identified as a suspect but at the time his whereabouts were unknown. He was subsequently arrested yesterday in DeKalb County with the assistance of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit and the US Marshals Office. James was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail at 5 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024, charged with Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Felonies, Theft by Deception, and two gang charges. He too is being held without bond.

Initial story

(Snellville, Ga., Jun 16, 2023) – The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one adult male deceased. The decedent has been identified as Brian Arnold-Causey (age 19, Snellville).

According to a press release from GCPD, shortly after 10:30 P.M., officers responded to a “medical assistance” call at Gwinnett County Fire Station 6 (3890 Johnson Drive, Snellville). A medical unit was requested at the fire station for a male suffering from gunshot wounds. An unknown person dropped the victim off at the fire station, telling fire personnel that the victim had been shot. The unknown individual left after dropping off the victim, who later died due to his injuries.   

At this time, very little is known about what took place. The investigation is ongoing. The Crime Scene Unit is collecting evidence, and detectives are trying to gather information.
