Update: Charges pending against pedestrian injured in Thursday night accident

Georgia State Patrol reports that charges are pending against a 34-year-old man who was injured Thursday night while walking on Center Hill Church Road. He was struck by a Honda Civic, driven by a 53-year-old woman from of Social Circle.

GSP Trooper First Class Cal Barton said that Devere Jones, 34, from Loganville was walking east in the eastbound lane of Center Hill Church Road when he was struck from the rear by the front of the Honda, driven by Lisa Low.

“Evidence was found in the eastbound lane of Center Hill Church Road that indicated Mr.Jones was in the roadway and the Honda never left it’s lane of travel when the impact occurred. Mr. Jones was wearing a black jacket and dark jeans and was walking in a non-lit area,” Barton said. “Ms. Low was not injured and Mr. Jones was transported by ambulance to Gwinnett Medical with serious but non-life threatening injuries”.

Barton said charges are pending against Jones.
