Walton County Fire Rescue and Monroe Fire Department responded to a structure fire overnight at 880 John W Breedlove Road.
“The fire involved a large metal frame shop building with an apartment attached. The 3600 square foot shop building housed a vehicle, a flat bed trailer and multiple vehicle parts including tires, all of which were destroyed,” WCFR Assistant Craig League said.

League said the apartment was also a total loss.
“The fire was reported by neighbors at 11:30 p.m. after flames were spotted coming from the building. Upon arrival, the building was fully involved,” he said.
League said the adult occupant along with his dog were able to escape the apartment fire. The Red Cross is providing lodging assistance for him. Investigators are returning to the scene today to investigate the cause of the fire.
