Update: Fire destroys home in vacant Conestoga Mobile Home Park overnight

Monroe Fire Department and Walton Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 3:48 a.m. this morning at 120 W. Vine St, which is the location of the former Conestoga mobile home park.
“The initial dispatch was for a brush fire behind Flowers Bakery located at 1536 S. Broad St. Units were updated before arrival that it would be a vacated mobile home inside the park. The unit was ‘well-involved’ upon arrival,” said Battalion Chief Andrew Dykes. “The fire was extinguished and is currently under investigation by the City officials.”
Officials said no occupants were displaced by the fire as this is a vacant mobile home park. The fire was to the mobile home located at Lot 36a. No injuries were reported to any fire personnel. At this time the fire is under investigation.
