This forum initially scheduled for July 29 has been postponed at this time due to conflicts by some of the panelists. An alternative date will be announced once it has been established.
The Local Emergency Planning Committee of Walton County will host a Community Forum on School Safety July 29th at 7:00 pm. The forum will be conducted at The Praise Center which is located at 1857 Hwy 78 NW Monroe, Ga. 30655.
“Thankfully, our schools are most often safe places for our children to gain knowledge and skills. While it is the hope and prayer of everyone that this always remain so, unpredictable events can happen that endanger the safety of students, faculty and staff alike. In Walton County, the most likely challenge we will face is that of severe weather. Of course, other hazards are possible,” Rick Baker with the LEPC said in a press release. “Parents and students of any of the schools in Walton County, including Social Circle City Schools and any of the private schools, are invited to attend this forum to learn how our community at large and the schools in particular are prepared and equipped to handle emergency situations.”
The forum is not recommended for elementary school-age children and no childcare will be provided. There is no charge for this event.
