All lanes were reopened just before 9 p.m. and drivers were urged to use caution while driving in the area.
Initial story
Loganville officials reported at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, that a gas spill on Highway 78 has all eastbound lanes in front of Kroger and one westbound lane closed.
“We expect cleanup to take some time,” said Robbie Schwartz, spokesman for the City of Loganville.
Loganville City Manager said that crews from the City of Loganville Public Utilities and Highway and Streets were continuing to clean up with spill. Georgia Department of Transportation foreman was on the scene with the officials.
