Gwinnett County Police have identified victim in this case has been as Bradley Jordan, 23, of Lawrenceville. Roceam Wilson, 26, homeless male, has been arrested for this murder.
“Detectives believe that Jordan was at the location for his job as a pest control worker when he was approached by Wilson outside of one of the apartments,” Cpl. Collin Flynn, public information officer for GCPD said in an updated press release. “At this time, a motive for the murder is not clear.”
Flynn said Wilson was quickly identified by detectives following up on evidence at the scene. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Felony Murder, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.
(Lawrenceville, Ga., January 28, 2020) – The Gwinnett County Police Department is actively investigating a homicide after a male was fatally shot in front of an apartment building in Lawrenceville near the Georgia Gwinnett Campus.
“Officers responded to 855 Walther Blvd just after 10:00 AM after someone called 911 to report hearing a gunshot and seeing a male lying at the bottom of a stairwell. When officers arrived, they discovered that the male was deceased with at least one gunshot wound,” Cpl. Collin Flynn said in a press release. “The Georgia Gwinnett Campus was initially put on lock down as officers searched the area for potential suspects. A K9 unit responded and a thorough search of the area was conducted. Once the search was completed the lockdown was lifted.”
Flynn said that investigators are trying to find out why the male was at the apartment complex and are asking any witnesses to come forward and provide whatever information they can on the shooting.
