Update: Identity released of 25-year-old Loganville man who died in traffic crash over the weekend

Loganville officials have released the name of the man who died in a traffic fatality on Lee Byrd Road in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 24, 21. He is Eliseo Villalva, 25, of Loganville. He reportedly lived off Bay Creek Road. At this time there is no update on the condition of the other two victims.

Alcohol and speed possibly contributing factors

A single vehicle crash in the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021 resulted in the death of a 25-year-old Loganville man and two injuries to the passengers, one critical.

According to Robbie Schwartz, spokesman for the City of Loganville, just after 4 am., Loganville police and firefighters responded to the single vehicle car crash on Lee Byrd Road, near the fire station. The vehicle reportedly left the roadway and the driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. He was not believed to be wearing a seatbelt.

“Two passengers had to be extricated from the vehicle,” Schwartz said. “One, a female, was taken to Gwinnett Medical while the second, a juvenile, was taken to Egleston with critical injuries.”

Schwartz said initial reports are that speed and alcohol will be contributing factors in the accident.
