Update: Loganville murder suspect arrested in New York

Update: Cpl. Michelle Pihera, public information officer with Gwinnett County Police Department, reported that Sean C. Edwards-Tuggle was arrested by the Metro North Transit Authority in New York at about midnight Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was wanted in connection with the shooting death of his stepfather, Christopher Grier, on April 1.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect in a homicide that police are currently. The incident happened at 4353 Grove Lake Street in unincorporated Loganville.

“On 04/01/2018 at 4:16 pm, GCPD officers were dispatched to a report of a male shot inside the residence there. GCPD officers arrived within minutes and located one male victim. Gwinnett County Fire Department responded as well and the male victim was determined to be dead at the scene,” Cpl. Matthew Williamson, public information officer with GCPD, said in a press release. “Members of the Criminal Investigations Division Homicide Unit responded for follow-up investigation.”

Williamson said the victim has been identified at 44-year-old Christopher Grier who lived at the incident location. The suspect has been identified as his 26-year-old stepson, Sean C. Edward-Tuggle who is alleged to have shot the victim during an argument.

“During the argument the suspect armed himself with a gun and shot the victim inside the house. The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle prior to GCPD officers’ arrival. There were witnesses to the incident and they are speaking to and working with GCPD Homicide Investigators to locate the suspect,” Williamson said.

There are active warrants for the suspect’s arrest for aggravated assault and felony murder. The GCPD is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect. If any knows or has information on his whereabouts they are asked to call the Gwinnett County Police Department or your local police agency.

Gwinnett County Police are currently on the scene of a homicide that was reported at about 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2018 on Grove Lake Street in the unincorporated Loganville area of the County.
