Loganville Police Department is sharing the video on an attempted gun heist in Loganville early Sunday morning. The one suspect, Jason Jerell Jeter, of Decatur, is already in custody. Detectives are particularly interested in any assistance that can be provided in identifying the white male seen using the power saw.
An attempted gun heist at X3 Firearms in store in Loganville was thwarted on Sunday morning when the burglar alarm went off. A suspect was subsequently located and is in custody. The ATF is investigating the incident.
According to a press release from the City of Loganville, officers with Loganville Police Department responded to a burglary alarm at X3 Firearms on Loganville Highway at 5:26 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11.
“Officers discovered upon arrival that a power saw was used in an attempt to gain entry to the business,” said Robbie Schwartz, public information officer for Loganville. “A short time later, a suspect vehicle was observed on Atlanta Highway and a traffic stop was initiated on that vehicle.”
Schwarz said that based on that traffic stop, and evidence obtained at the scene, the following individual has been arrested.
Jason Torell Jeter, 39 of Decatur – charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary and criminal damage to property
“The LPD is working to identify additional suspects in this case and anyone with information regarding the case or suspects is asked to contact Detective Maurice Kennard at 770-466-8087,” Swartz said. “Because this investigation is ongoing and active at this time we will have no further comment at this time.”
Schwartz said video of the incident will likely be available tomorrow.
This would not have been the first time a burglary has been perpetrated on this store and not the first time this year for a Loganville gun store. X3 Firearms was burglarized in April last year and Deaton’s gun store in Loganville was burglarized just last month. There is no information at this time as to whether there is any connection to any other incidents.
