Update: Man missing in Talullah Falls found dead

Update

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reported that William Albert Woodward, 36, of Toombs County has been found deceased. Walton County Fire Rescue had assisted in the search at Tullulah Falls earlier on in the week for the missing man.

Initial story

A group of firefighters from Walton Fire Rescue have been assisting Rabun County EMA with a search for a missing person along the Tallulah Falls area of Rabun County. WCFR Battalion Chief Craig League said the personnel from Walton left Sunday evening and conducted an area search in the mountainous terrain around the falls and Tallulah Gorge on Monday and Tuesday. The search was called off Tuesday without locating the missing man. Firefighters from WCFR were scheduled to return home this morning.

Members of WCFR who participated in the search include Lt Brunson Gunter, Lt Clay McCullough and firefighters Andrew Shehan, Chase Lee, Cole Myers, Kevin Vermillion and Steven Wilson.
According to the story in the AJC, William Albert Woodward, 36, of Toombs County went missing in the Tallulah Gorge on Thursday. Another man believed to have been with him was reportedly found on Saturday.
