Update: Missing Gwinnett teen found safe Sunday evening


The missing teen was located safe at an Asian Restaurant on Sunday evening and she was re-united with her mother. At this time police do not believe that her disappearance was against her will. Specific details regarding her activities while she was missing are not being released.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 13-year old middle school teen. Simone Gonzalez was last seen at Moore Middle School on Lawrenceville Highway on Friday, March 9, at about 4 p.m.  According to her mother, the teen was in attendance during the school day, but she never returned home.

Simone was last seen wearing a red shirt, jeans, and black shoes.  She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 125 lbs. She is a Hispanic female with brown hair (with orange highlights) and brown eyes.  Simone lives at a home on Chatham Park Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville.  She does not have her phone with her.

Simone’s mother, Charlamagne Francis, is eager to have her daughter returned home.
