Update: Monroe man receives ‘serious but not life-threatening’ injuries in pedestrian accident

Update
Trooper First Class Cal Barton with Georgia State Patrol said that Wayne Lang, 51, from Monroe, was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center on Sunday night with “serious but not life-threatening injuries,” after being hit by a Toyota 4-runner while walking on Rosebud Road. The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Cameron Smith, from Conyers, was not cited in the accident.
“The vehicle was traveling north and the pedestrian was walking on side of the road, also traveling north, when he was struck,” Barton said. “He was walking improperly on the roadway.”
Barton said Lang was not cited, but he was not sufficiently off the road when he was struck and he was not walking against the oncoming traffic on the correct side of the road.
