MONROE – Monroe Police report that the crime scene reported at Spring Street and Breedlove Drive on Thursday morning involved a stabbing incident that involved a second crime scene on Carwood Drive. Witnesses reported both scenes were roped off with crime scene tape.
According to a press release from MPD, at about 1.39 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, police responded to the area of West Spring Street and Breedlove Drive in reference to an individual who had been stabbed. Officers rendered first aid before the individual was transported to Piedmont- Athens hospital by Walton County EMS where he is currently receiving treatment. The investigation led law enforcement authorities to the area of Carwood Drive for further crime scene processing.
The name of the victim or potential suspect is not being released at this time. This is still an active investigation as detectives attempt to identify individuals believed to be involved who fled the scene.
