Update
A single-vehicle accident that took place on Highway 83 at 10:58 a.m. Monday morning resulted in one person being transported to the hospital.
“A 2015 Ford Select driven by Carla Barnes, 51, from Good Hope, was headed west on Highway 83 when for some unknown reasons the car traveled off the south shoulder and struck a utility pole with the left side of the vehicle,” said Trooper First Class Cal Barton of Georgia State Patrol. “She said she thought she saw something in the road and was swerving to go around.”
Barton said she was transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

Avoid Highway 83 in Walton County just east of Navajo Trail. Crews are working an accident wit entrapment.
“One vehicle struck a utility pole,” Capt. Jeff Allen with Walton County Fire Rescue said.
There are no life-threatening injuries.
