Update: Person injured in Social Circle fire has passed away

Update

Walton County Fire Rescue report that the person critically injured in the Social Circle fire has passed away. He has been identified as Adam Roy Rodgers, age 57 of Social Circle. He died at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, a short time after arrival at the facility. His next of kin have been notified.

Battalion Chief Craig League said the Georgia State Fire Marshals Office and Walton County Fire Rescue Arson Investigators, are conducting the investigation into the cause of the fire.

Initial Story

Walton County Fire Rescue and Social Circle Fire Department was called to a house fire in the early morning hours  of Friday, Aug. 24, 2018. The fire was reported at 2220 Willow Springs Church Road in South Walton.

“Upon arrival the home had very heavy fire involvement in the kitchen and den area. One of the occupants of the home was life flighted to Grady Hospital by EMS with severe burns. Fire personnel were on the scene for several hours until the fire was extinguished,” Battalion Chief Craig League reported.

“The fire cause is still pending the investigation, but it is believed to be accidental,” League said. “There were 3 people living in the home.”
