Update: Rowe, 22, remains in the Walton County jail charged with murder

Update

Matthew Robert Rowe, 22, of Monroe, remains in Walton County Detention Center, without bond, charged in the alleged Nov. 30, 2024 shooting death of Allison Kaspor, 20, of Monroe. Rowe is charge with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and obstruction of an officer.

Monroe Police Department reports that Kaspor died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. The shooting remains an ongoing investigation. In the meantime, the family of Kaspor is left to mourn the loss of a daughter. Her life and loss is shared on a gun violence memorial website where she was described as “bubbly, friendly, adventurous, bright and kind” and someone who loved animals. Kaspor worked at Walmart and attended Piedmont University. She attended school at Bay Creek Elementary, Loganville Middle and High Schools as well as Monroe Area High School.

MONROE, GA (Nov. 30, 2024) – The City of Monroe Police Department is reporting that a woman was fatally shot in the city in the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024. A 22-year-old man charged with the murder is in police custody.

According to a press release from MPD, at 5.07 a.m. this morning, officers and detectives responded to 114 4th street in Monroe in response to a 911 call of a person shot. The victim, Allison Kaspor, 20, of Monroe was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. Matthew Rowe, 22, also of Monroe, has been taken into custody and charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
