
Update:
Battalion Chief Jack Armstrong with Monroe Fire Department reported that at 4:42 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 20, Monroe Fire and Walton County Fire Rescue were dispatched to a structure fire at 719 Lacy St.
“Fire crews on location found a working fire in the B apartment with heavy smoke conditions in the A unit. The fire was controlled quickly by Monroe unit,” Armstrong said. “1-800 Board Up and Red Cross have been requested to assist both apartments.”
Armstrong said several adults and children were displaced by the event. Investigators are on location to determine cause and origin if possible.
There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters.
