Update: Suspect arrested in July 22, 2018 robbery of Stars and Strikes

Gwinnett County Police Department announced that Willie James Rivers, 28, is now in custody. He is currently being held in Clayton County and on his release he will be transported to Gwinnett county Jail to face charges of two counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault. GCPD have directed inquiries surrounding his capture to the Clayton County authorities. We will update once that information is obtains.
Rivers is accused of robbing the Stars and Strikes in the unincorporated Loganville area of Gwinnett County on July 28. At the time, he also allegedly shot at one of the victims who followed him out of the bowling alley. He is also accused of robbing the Homestay Suites in unincorporated Lilburn on July 14.
Update: Suspect is considered armed and dangerous
Gwinnett County Police Department detectives are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery that took place on Sunday morning at the Stars and Strikes bowling alley in the Loganville area of unincorporated Gwinnett. The suspect is wanted in at least one other robbery as well.
According to GCPD, on July 22, 2018, the suspect allegedly robbed the Stars and Strikes at 479 Brightwell Court, unincorporated Loganville. In this case, he entered the business and pointed a gun at multiple people. Police say he fired multiple shots at one of the victims who followed him out. The victim was not hurt. The suspect fled on foot, abandoning his vehicle – a lime green 2104 Ford Mustang. It was recovered and remains in police custody. The suspect is also accused of robbing the Homestay Suites at 4350 Stone Mountain Highway in unincorporated Lilburn on July 14.

The suspect is identified as Willie James Rivers. He is a black male, about 5’6” tall and weighing about 160 lbs. Detectives have obtained warrants against him for two counts of armed robbery and four counts of aggravated assault. Rivers is currently on the run and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone encountering Rivers should call 911.

The Gwinnett County public information officer confirmed that there was a robbery on Sunday morning, July 22, 2018, at the Stars and Striked Bowling alley located at 479 Brightwell Court in the Loganville area of unincorporated Gwinnett. The call came in at 9:41 a.m. to the south precinct of Gwinnett County Police Department.
“The suspect fled on foot prior to GCPD arrival. K9 responded but did not locate the suspect,” the GC PIO reported. “CSI and detectives were called and are working the investigation.”
