Update: A 16-year-old male was operating a go-kart on a private driveway on Christmas Day when he was going too fast to make the u-turn he was attempting near the end of the driveway, according to Georgia State Patrol TFC Sgt. James Buchanan. This resulted in an accident in which the teen received critical injuries after colliding with a vehicle.
“The go-kart entered the eastbound lane of County Line Road in the path of an eastbound Jeep. The driver of the Jeep attempted to brake and steer to avoid the go-kart but was unsuccessful. The front of the Jeep struck the rear of the go-kart,” Buchanan said. “The operator of the go-kart was injured and transported by Air Life to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment.”
Buchanan said currently the teen is in serious but stable condition.
A 16-year-old was life-flighted on Christmas Day following an accident involving a passenger car and a go-kart.
According to Assistant Fire Chief Craig League with Walton County Fire Rescue, WCFR and Social Circle Fire Department responded to the motor vehicle accident involving a passenger car and a go-kart on County Line Road near Social Circle at 1:10 p.m. on Dec. 25, 2019.
“A 16-year-old was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center with critical injuries,” League said. The teen was wearing a helmet officials say.
Georgia State Patrol is working the accident. More details to follow when available.
