Update: Victim of the fatal crash in Walton County Monday identified as a 52-year-old woman from Loganville

(The report has been updated with the name of the victim in the fatality)

UPDATE: Georgia State Patrol reports that the crash on Highway 81 in the Loganville area of Walton County resulted in a fatality.

GSP released the following report:

“On July 6, 2026, at 5:21 AM, a Trooper from the Monroe Post was requested to investigate a multiple vehicle crash on Georgia Highway 81 at Forest Falls Drive. The investigation revealed that a gray Hyundai Kona was traveling north on Georgia Highway 81. A white Ford F-150 was traveling south on Georgia Highway 81. The driver of the Hyundai, Labrane Green-West, 52-year-old female from Loganville, GA, failed to maintain her lane and crossed into the southbound lane of Georgia Highway 81. The Hyundai side-swiped the Ford, causing both vehicles to rotate counterclockwise. After impact, the Hyundai struck a silver Toyota 4runner. The Hyundai traveled off the roadway and came to rest on the west shoulder. (The driver) suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The Toyota overturned and came to rest on the driver’s side facing south in the roadway. After the initial impact between the Hyundai and Ford, the Ford rotated approximately 180 degrees and continued south on Georgia Highway 81. The Ford then struck a Chevrolet Malibu which was traveling north. This collision caused the Ford to overturn onto the passenger’s side and come to rest in the roadway. The Chevrolet left the roadway and came to rest on the west shoulder of Georgia Highway 81.

UPDATE: Highway 81 was back open by 8:56 a.m. following the crash. Georgia State Patrol worked the crash. More details on the crash will be given when available.

WALTON COUNTY, GA (July 6, 2026) – Walton County Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Craig League reports that first responders are on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash.

“At 5:16am this morning personnel from WCFR responded to a four vehicle crash on Ga Hwy 81 at Forest Falls Drive north of Loganville,” League said. “Multiple injuries were reported, one critical injury. “

Craig said Highway 81 is shut down at Forest Falls Drive. Traffic is being detoured from Bay Creek Church Road to Shiloh Road.
