Update: WGHS teacher ‘no longer employee in school district’ after sexual misconduct allegations

Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman confirmed that the Walton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating allegations of sexual misconduct against a Walnut Grove High School teacher involving a student at the school. The teacher involved is no longer employed with Walton County School District, according to officials.

The WCSD released an official statement noting it is aware of the allegations and is fully cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation.
“Student safety is always our top priority. The district took immediate action and the teacher in question is no longer an employee in the school district,” WCSO spokesperson Callen Moore said in  statement.
Chapman said at this time there has been no arrest in this case. It remains an investigation.
