Press release from Piedmont

Update: This has been canceled for Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, due to weather.

Piedmont Walton Hospital will be hosting its first Walk with a Doc event on Monday, Nov. 12 at 5:15 p.m. Local residents are invited to attend this event and enjoy a leisurely walk on the hospital campus.

New to the Walton County community, Walk with a Doc will give participants the opportunity to meet and consult with family medicine specialists Diondra Atoyebi, D.O., and Joel Garrison, D.O., with Piedmont Physicians Monroe Family Practice.

During the walk, Dr. Atoyebi and Dr. Garrison will share tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and will be available to answer any questions.

As a board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Atoyebi treats patients of all ages, even kids, and has special interests in women’s health, global health, lifestyle medicine and nutrition. She is also fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Garrison is board certified in family medicine and provides acute and chronic care to patients of all ages, including newborns in the hospital. Lifestyle medicine is Dr. Garrison’s preferred approach with his patients, and he focuses on healthy eating habits, exercise and healthy living.

The walk will include an easy, one-mile path around the hospital’s campus and will begin at Piedmont Physicians Monroe Family Practice, located at 2161 West Spring Street, Suite A in Monroe, Ga.

“We are excited to provide residents a chance to learn some important health tips, while also moving and exercising,” Dr. Atoyebi said. “Whether it’s walking, running, cycling or simply strolling with your family, this walk will provide a dedicated space for physical activity that contributes to a healthy lifestyle.”
