Authorities have identified the victims in the crash in Barrow County yesterday that resulted in the deaths of two men. Shannon Ewing and his nephew, Henry Ewing, died when their plane crashed yesterday afternoon. Shannon Ewing was a 1985 graduate of Monroe Area High School.
Barrow County Sheriff’s Office announced the plane crash yesterday afternoon, noting that the plane had crashed just off of the Winder Airport property, resulting in the two fatalities. The NTSB and FAA are investigating.
Shannon Ewing leaves behind his wife and two children. The family lived in Dacula, according to reports, but have strong connections to the local community. Condolences are pouring in on social media for the family.
