This coming Monday, Sept. 9, from 9 am-3 pm, Walnut Grove High School will be hosting an annual Blood Drive through the American Red Cross, and they are asking for anyone from the community to come and give to save a life.
All ages 17 and up are welcome to donate, provided they are eligible (more information and requirements can be found at https://www.redcrossblood.org/). Walk-ins are welcome, but donators are encouraged to sign up prior to the event online. All donators must arrive at Walnut Grove High School between 9 am and 3 pm to give.
Since Hurricane Dorian has wrecked through the Bahamas, Florida, and the southeastern U.S. coast, the need for blood is even greater now than before. According to the American Red Cross, just one unit of blood (equivalent to one pint) can save up to three lives.
Walnut Grove High School’s Key Club, which is sponsoring the event, ask that anyone and everyone who can donate to please do so. According to the American Red Cross, “every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood,” so please consider saving a life today and donate.
Go online to register to donate at the American Red Cross Website.
