Walnut Grove Library is looking for a few good friends

Friends of the Walnut Grove Library is looking to expand its membership

The City of Walnut Grove, as is the case with the cities of Loganville, Monroe and Social Circle in Walton County, has its own branch member of the Azalea Regional Library System.

All the branches of the libraries offer many events for the communities, especially over the holidays.

Friends of Walnut Grove Library is hoping to attract more people to help spread the word, share ideas and expand future use of the library facilities in the Walnut Grove community. In order to get the word out, Friends of the Walnut Grove Library are inviting people who have an interest in joining to attend a meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024 at the Walnut Grove Library at 1050 Walnut Grove Parkway, Loganville, GA 30052.

The Friends are currently seeing an individual to take over as the President for the organization. They will help organize events to raise money for the library and will host quarterly member meetings. So if you are an outgoing friendly individual who would like to volunteer and help serve your community, they are looking for you.

According to Andrea Wood Raphael, Friends of the Library is a 501 c registered with the IRS. The purpose of the organization is primarily to support the library and its programs.

“We want to get more members and ideas,” she said. “I am working with Councilwoman Linda Pilgrim, Kim Moor and Tracey Watson. We will hold the Annual General Meeting and have Elections.”
